I installed these on the rear lift gate of my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude to replace worn-out struts. They’re a great fit and extremely strong—so strong that I have to hold onto the gate firmly all the way up until it reaches full extension. My vehicle doesn’t have a power liftgate, and I’m careful not to let it spring open and put extra stress on the hinges.Pro tip: Don’t remove the spring clip. Just use a flathead screwdriver to lift it slightly while pushing the strut onto the ball. I wasted time on the first side figuring that out—second one took less than two minutes.It also takes both hands and a bit of effort to pull the lift gate back down. I have some physical limitations, so that part is a bit challenging, but manageable. Overall, they’re a solid, fairly priced upgrade and a major improvement over the worn factory struts.
