Design Engineering Heat Screen solves the problem of heat from engines and exhaust intruding into interiors and components. Heat Screen offers an excellent way to reflect radiant heat away from a vehicle’s interior and because it’s flexible and can be trimmed-to-size to protect against excessive heat sources. Constructed of a high temperature resistant fiberglass material, and with a thickness of only .06″, Heat Screen features a thermal barrier on one side made of a superior reflective aluminized mylar surface, capable of withstanding direct heat up to 1200°F. Heat Screen can be used to protect areas where excessive heat can blister paint, where exhaust pipes run close to the fuel tank, and has many other applications including floorboards, body panels, and under carpeting. Available with or without an adhesive backing. A high temperature adhesive such as DEI’s Hi-Temp Spray Adhesive or Heat Resistant Sealant (each sold separately) can be applied to secure the non-adhesive backed Heat Screen as well as mechanical fasteners like screws or rivets. DEI’s Cool Tape (sold separately) is ideal for sealing and covering seams.

Light weight and a very efficient reflector. I use it to keep a 1000 degree Celsius furnace from heating up adjacent objects.

We used this to line the top of the opening for a single wall oven in my kitchen cabinets. We have the microwave sitting above and I wanted to make sure heat from the oven wouldn’t be a problem. It was very easy to cut and form to the area. We did put an extra bit of support by stapling in small shims of wood just in case but probably was overkill. The adhesive was very sticky but you could reposition it if you were careful to not press too hard before you had it where you wanted. Works great and my microwave area stays nice and cool even when running my oven at 540 degrees for pizza.

I used this on the underside of my gas tank on my Ducati. Its definitely helped with heat. It also looks so much better than oem one. It does take a while to put it in but with time and patience it works very well.Highly recommend.

I wouldn’t use it anywhere except on the interior of a vehicle, based on some things I saw online I tried to use it under the hood even with the heavy duty spray adhesive it wanted to pull off if it was under any tension at all don’t try to stretch it.

Easy to install and really does shield intensive heat from surfaces. Used it for our cabinet where we put our toaster oven.

Used as a cheaper alternative for Bonnet insulationI have used DEI products before and they have never failed me.
