Rio Verde Guy –
This YUASA battery arrived quickly and was brand new in the factory box. I saved about $25.00 over the price quoted at my local independent motorcycle shop. The battery is for a 1981 Yamaha Virago and it is peculiar to the Virago and Ducati Monsters, making it hard to find and expensive. I always buy Yuasa batteries as they have a sulfation fighter the extends the battery’s life. In 31 years, I have only put four batteries in the Virago. The original battery lasted 14 years. A friend got me a deal on an Interstate replacement – it only lasted three years. I learned my lesson. I am sold on the YUASA brand.

Exact replacement for the OEM in my Virago.Strong, holds charge fine. No surprises.Important note: If you missed it above, you will have to add acid. Battery acid is cheap, but depending on where you live, you may have difficulty buying it over the counter from the chain auto stores and battery suppliers. Amazon ships it, but many online places have it for pick-up only.I found out that my local Interstate Battery warehouse not only sold this battery at the same cost, they also filled and charged it for free. So if you’re near one of those places, you may just prefer picking a prepped on up.Happy riding.

I prefer the Yuasa battery for my four liter plus motorcycles because I average more than three years life from these batteries when they are kept on a battery maintainer. My liter size motorcycles put a lot of stress on these batteries, and survive, when some of the other brand batteries has burned it’s internal connections, resulting with a low time useless battery.

The battery is decent enough, but not including electrolyte pushes the price up significantly. I had to purchase two jugs of acid, one was not enough, and at that point had spent as much as buying a Lithium Iron battery.

This is obviously not the OEM Yausa that I once knew! First I have owned my ’82 Yamaha Virago since I bought it new. Trust me I know my bike and have purchased many batteries for it over the years, some good, some bad. This one falls in the BAD category.I thought getting this brand name OEM Battery was a great deal. It started right up once I installed it but that’s about the best I can give it. It didn’t last 2 months and my bike is garage kept with the battery in a trickle charger. Now trying to figure out how I exercise the 1 year warranty but will probably just go buy a different brand since I assume that will be a long process and no reason to expect a replacement would be any better. You have been warned.

The battery comes without acid.Acid is not available locally, so I had to return it and buy same battery locally with acid

Beware-this battery does not come with any battery acid….and good luck trying to find where you can buy it. Go to a store that sells batteries filled with battery acid.

Standard quality Yuasa battery. Shipping was fast. From the area in the site I ordered the notation that acid pack is NOT provided was missed. It should be in the title. I found a 32oz acid pack at Gregg Distributors in Canada. Other than that it is up and running OK.

Not the best deal but save you the trip to town, although probably my fault for not noticing, but it doesn’t come with the acid, so you have to buy separately and mix it.

I did not notice the “no-acid” clause. But.. (angry now) … I just finished filling this up. It has been years since I had a battery where I needed to add my own acid. This (##$#%) battery does not even have the 25 cent plastic tube. And I did not realize until getting the acid (Advanced auto parts .. thank you) that the acid box had none either. It took a long time for get a very small squeeze bottle (thank you dollar store) to make my own connection using the overflow tube from the bike. So – no acid – fine…. but put the filler tube in the box… I will give you the extra 25 cents for it. Sorry – I am normally positive on reviews but this frustrated me. I don’t know many people that would have an acid filling tube in their back pocket… put..it..in..the..box.

I ordered this battery and was supposed to receive the bottle of fluid as part of this package. Without it, the battery is useless. This battery is only good as a boat anchor! I didn’t order a boat anchor. I am severely disappointed by what I paid for and the lack of parts that was received. I have many reservations now ordering on your platform and am strongly considering ending my membership. The
