Direct replacement for my old converter, it’s layout is180 degrees though, which not an issue as the cables are long enough, just means that the fan is at the opposite end.And fixed my issue of 12volt lights very dim, fridge turning off, furnace not lightingWhich was strange as the battery wa# at full charge but the converter (the old one) was only kicking out 6 voltsIt’s back to -13 volts nowAnd the price was good + some credit card points to spend cost me about 90 bucks in totalHad a buddy sparky fit it in about 30 minutesOh last thing, the footprint isn’t quit the same so the screw holes were out of line but it’s plastic so drilled a couple of new holes and that did the trickWell pleased

The item is the same size and has the same number of wires. Only issue is the wire colors were different. Original has black as hot and white as neutral. But this unit it was swapped, not a huge deal but if someone was going just off colors it would be a problem.

All my 12v power in my rv was gone. Researched and came to conclusion this is what I needed and hoped my research paid off before getting a very expensive electrician out into the far away woods.But I was about ready to return this for failure! A bit of patience worked out. I’ll get to that. Installed the converter wire for wire on my panel. This converter was exactly the same size as the old but it was a bit different with a chip connected vertically. Took some pictures for reference from the old one. Took about 15 min to secure the new wires in their corresponding inputs in the panel. Some of the wires were different color but there was lettering on the chipboard and labels so it wasn’t too much of a big deal. So after installing I turned on the main power and turned the breakers on. Nothing happened. I still had no power to my lights or refrigerator. I was bummed out. I then noticed some sounds and lights flickering in that vertical chip on the new converter I didn’t know what was going on I thought for a second it was a short or malfunction. Shut everything down again and inspected. No smoke or electrical double checked all wires again I was stumped. Everything looked perfect. Turned the power back on. Same Thing little flashing red and green lights and clicking noises. After about 2 min the clicking and lights stopped flashing. Then Boom!!! lights on refrigerator working hot water heater AC unit and tv were alive. I’m guessing now that it was programming itself and went through whatever computations and works flawlessly. This was the first time installing anything like this and I didn’t know that it would code itself to work. My older unit did not have that chip board for reference plus it not really an electrician or have deep understanding of how these work. . Elated to say everything works perfect. The fan turns on to cool itself down and is silent. I have my RV back in action and everything works better than ever. For under $100 for the part some patience and a screwdriver!
