The WARN 80475 Plow Skids Replacement plow skid is expertly designed to replace change older style threaded plow skids. The extremely heavy duty and include quick release pins for fast and easy adjustments. The purpose of the plow skid is to increase the life of the wear bar and to help minimize damage caused by the plow blade on the scraping surface such as decorative driveways (also, see plastic wear bars for decorative driveways in related products below). The plow skid can also assist in plowing material off of gravel surfaces by floating the edge of the blade just above the gravel. To use most effectively for level surfaces, adjust the plow skids level with the edge of the wear bar on the plow blade and for uneven rocky surfaces, the skids should be adjusted such that the edge of the wear bar will float over the rocky surface during plowing.

Not super heavy duty but sufficient for my needs – recommended. Update: Have plowed two Colorado winters now (1-2017) and my first set of plow skids I installed in 2-2015 are worn through. I plow a 3/10 mile X 15ft wide driveway and large parking area of recycled asphalt – a fairly rough surface compared to dirt. I did not count the number of plows in that two year period, estimate of 8-10. I plow using a BobCat utility vehicle and a medium duty plow blade weighing approx. 200 pounds set on “float.” Meaning no downward pressure from the hydraulics, just the weight of the blade, so it will glide over any small changes in roadway grade. I got 24 months of plowing for $32 – seems reasonable. Beats not getting down the driveway after a heavy snowfall anyway – 3-2021 UPDATE and now of course – they are unavailable when I need to restock – but suspiciously the $97 skids are available.

These were simple to install and fit really well. I have used them twice and they were great.

These “coaster pads for my Warn blade is just perfect for helping stabilize the plow blade and helping to prevent parting of the winch cable!

Easy to put on. Ok for the money but probably won’t last more than about a year. Don’t know if more hardened steel would last longer as they are on the ground and take a lot of abuse.

Exact fit for my worn out skid plates on the Warn plow. Removing the old ones and putting on the new ones took 5 minutes at most.I consider it a wear item, and the replacement worked perfectly.
