Jorge from California –
I just got the bag and put it on my 2008 Honda Shadow Aero with a Mustang Touring seat. It fit perfectly and the straps were easy to attach to the bike. I’m not sure how soon I will get to use it because of the fires here in California and COVID, but I’m already super happy with the purchase. It is a well built bag with lots of room and features. Depending on where I place it on the back seat, it can even double as a very comfortable back rest. I can’t say enough good things about the bag. In terms of the size, I am happy with it because I thought it might look unsightly on my bike if it was too big. Now that it is on, I like the way it looks on there in combination with my saddle bags. It is just the right size. Kudos to Saddlemen for the design of this product. I hope to get many years of use from this bag.Update: Just got back from a two day, 1000 mile trip from California to Arizona and back. Could not be happier with this bag!It performed great, just the right pockets for all my stuff. What is even better is that I mounted it in just the right way so that it provided me with super comfortable back support. Awesome bag!! I highly recommend this bag.

The bag is well made and has great storage capacity. It fits on my ‘98 VMax just fine, the U channel doesn’t quite clear the grab handles under the pillion seat but with a good shove it worked and the bag has now reshaped itself to fit easily. The provided strapping is fine and the straps are sufficient to mount from several different points in the frame. If I used it more frequently I’d consider making some custom mounts that stayed in the bike and utilized the quick release buckles.I’ve hauled 100lbs of play sand in bags in this with no issue at all, (well above its rated capacity) and it makes a nice backrest into the bargain.

Really enjoy it. Just big enough to stuff my Kevlar jacket and hoodie inside when the ride is starting to get too hot, and room left over in the side compartments for other things I need. ONE THING THOUGH: I’d read a few other reviews from people who were very upset that the thin metal fasteners broke during usage. I didn’t even want to take that risk, so before using it I bought some sturdy carabiners to use for fastening instead (pictured). I knocked one star off “sturdiness” for this reason. Not enough to dissuade me from recommending it though.

This is an AMAZING bag. Very easy to secure to your bike with the provided straps, some of the easiest access to your stuff on the fly than I ever have had before. ONE THING I would state, and I think you might find this with a lot of cargo bags is that it is harder to access your saddle bags depending on their positioning on your bike, but that is something you can get around with some planning. I just took it on a 2300 mile trip and was extremely happy with it.

I got this bag for a 2600 mile ride through Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, & Montana. It fit onto the luggage rack of a Yamaha Tracer 900 GT. SUPER glad I bought it. I’m going to have countless miles and years of adventures with it.Just one thing I wish I would have thought about:It’s way more waterproof on top, than on bottom. I was riding through what I thought was some mild rain. I didn’t stop to put the waterproof cover over the top of it, because it seemed to be mostly dry because it was hanging out in the vacuum my body mass created behind me. At some point, I discovered that the bottoms of the sides, the ‘wings’, that hang down on either side of the seat or luggage rack- soaked up all kinds of water. My extra socks and undies got totally wet. If I would have pulled a waterproof cover over all of it to begin with, It would have been better. Anyway, some how, some way, the bottom sides of this thing are sponges. Waterproof accordingly.9/10, would buy again.

Overall good build quality.Only thing to make notice of is the plastic buckles, take the cheap insurance and install some zip ties on the buckles to ensure they stay closed.Otherwise, good buy.

Seems sturdy, stable enough to be a backrest when it’s packed, easy on/off, and should pair up will with saddlebags to make a lot of space for longer trips. All the external tie down spots should make it easy to attach camping gear etc. too.

I’ve had other Saddlemen products. I have their round bag in my bicycle. This item will be my main piece of luggage not only for my motorcycle but for my car road trips as well. No issues yet and this seller was about $30 cheaper than a couple dedicated on-line biker gear shops.
