This is a high-quality replacement. If I could have just bought the rubber piece and the shrink tube for $10 instead of paying $20 for the whole setup, I’d give it five stars. You’ll need to drill the hole in the rubber shaft for the locking pin, and you’ll be thankful if you remember to put the shrink tube and the plastic cover on the tiller extension before you wrestle everything together. The two mounting screws are not included- you’ll want to re-use the old ones.

This is a wear item that a smart person will replace every few years before the old one breaks during a windy regatta. Of course I learned this the hard way. Twice now. Duh!! It only take a few minutes during your spring going over. Fits my Sunfish perfectly.
Not in your camp, but not in theirs either –
Easy to replace the joint on my Nacra 17 tiller extension. Everyone seems to think the shrink tape does not come with it, but if you look carefully in the package, it will be there. Make sure you get the shrink tape onto your tiller extension before you install your pin, just like you are setting up an electrical connection with shrink tape, put the shrink tape over the wire first, duh!

Worked well. Priced right. I wished they just sell the rubber flexible part that breaks. You will need to drill hole in the rubber part when attaching.

Packaged like a Ronstan original, but the universal I received didn’t have the heat shrink sleeve. (The sleeve is shown in the listing picture.)

Pro tip: If you are buying on of these, just buy two to make sure you always have a replacement on hand. Batter than to losing a day of sailing while waiting for another replacement.
