does the job for fastening the tail gate trim

We purchased a tailgate protector for my husband’s work truck along with the Red Hound Bolts and Nuts…they were a perfect fit. Thank you !!

good

These are exactly what I expected them to be BUT… the metal hex inserts are intended to be used with some kind of $40 specialty GM tool to crimp them into place. I used JB weld. They’ve been installed for weeks and aren’t going anywhere. The screws are overkill anyway since other tailgate caps are attached with double-sided tape. I put some of that on the inside edge of the cap as well and have no worry of losing any of it.
JASON JAMES –
Worked perfectly and arrived fast. They are the only place I could find these nutserts anywhere besides at the Chevrolet Dealer who charges ten times the price for the exact same stuff.

If you plan to buy this hardware beware. You will need to apply an epoxy or some other type of automotive adhesive in order for the sleeves to seat. Other than the that the holes lines up perfectly in the stock locations in the tail gate.
Warren –
They didn’t crush properly and were loose in the hole, fell.put on the highway so can’t even return them.
Craig M Blonde –
These fit GM tailgates as advertised. What people are missing is that you don’t just drop them in the hole. You need an M6 rivnut tool to install them properly.People are talking about gluing these in. That’s not necessary – they hold themselves in place like a rivet. I put some grease in the holes to discourage rust which is visible in the pictures I uploaded, but there is definitely no reason to glue them.

Finally got a chance to install and 1 of four stripped out right away- very diappointing!

Ordered these after replacing the tail gate on my truck. The sleeves or “anchors” of this product fit just fine. They slid right in. Problem was they slipped right out too.. There is nothing they anchor to. first time I opened the tail gate all 4 screws and anchors fell out and were lost in the gravel. I could have glued the piece they were supposed to hold and had better luck. Don’t waste your money.

Its best to get or barrow the setter tool. But…. I had a 6mm sockethead screw, washers,5/16 wrench, 5mm allen key and some break line for a cheater bar.
Emily Ashton –
Were useless to me because they were too small & didn’t work!
Jim Jones –
very fast shipping. Good fit.
