Installation
- Attach the marten repeller in the engine compartment using the cables provided
- Connect the red & black cable to the vehicle battery: black -, red +
- Switch on the device; it connects to the battery & starts
- LED flashes 3 times at start, then lights up for 22 seconds, pauses for 22 seconds
Operation
When the vehicle is switched on, the marten repellent detects this from the engine vibrations and switches itself off. As soon as you come to a standstill with your vehicle, the marten repellent switches on again to protect the vehicle from martens and rodents with its 12-25 kHz ultrasonic waves.

No, the installation is simple. The device connects to the 12-volt car battery and can be installed in just a few minutes. Detailed instructions are included. The device switches off automatically while you are driving.

I did not install my Patler until way outside of my return window, as life has been busy. If I had I would be returning for a refund to try something different. Upon installing the noise is weak and faint, it does not sound full time. It appears to be motion activated but does not always sound. Sometimes it will sound if I shake it in place. Overall it does not work to my expectations and would accept a refund from the seller at any time, I would gladly ship this product back asap!

I can’t speak to if the device works. There is no noise and the light does not flash (or at least I can’t see the light).On line installation instructions do not exist. There is a QR code that takes you to a site and from there are links to YouTube etc that don’t work. With that said, if you are all handy it is easy to figure out. Install at the battery terminal and mount somewhere under your hood (I used double sided tape). What I don’t know if there is a particular direction to point the device.

I’m hoping this item works as easily as it installed. I make sure to start the car every week to make sure the battery isn’t drained. I’ll know better on performance after a years evaluation.

Easy to set up, rats not showing up anymore. Four cats from neighbors frequent my backyard lately; so, hard to say, maybe a combination of the device and cats, or could be the device alone worked in keeping rats away!
