I wanted to add a cargo hatch cover to our recently purchased 2024 Honda Passport. I found the Nilight product on Amazon and ordered it.The item arrived in a few days and was factory packed in a sturdy shipping box so there was no shipping damage. It took me about 5 minutes to unbox it and get it installed with no tools required. It easily snaps into the provided installation holes in the Passport’s interior. While unrolling it to test the cover, I did notice one slight imperfection on the right-hand edge of the cover. However, it wasn’t significant enough to warrant returning it, but I’m taking one star off this review for it.The included cargo net is a nice bonus. It also easily hooks into the factory-provided attachment points at the rear of the Passport’s cargo area. That said, the item includes a bag of screws and additional attachment points if you want to install the cargo net in another part of the cargo area.Overall, this product is very good, easy to install, and it does what it’s supposed to.

It slide smoothly and locks into place easily, creating a solid visual barrier between the trunk area and the passenger space. This is a must for protecting personal belongings, especially when parking in public areas. The storage net is also very useful for keeping loose items like groceries, umbrellas, or small bags from rolling around.Value for money: At this price point, this is one of the best value cargo covers out there. You’re getting both a custom fit retractable cover and a cargo net, and the quality punches above its weight class. Considering some OEM covers are 2 to 3 times the price without a significant quality difference, this product is a smart by.Ease of installation: Installation was quick and no tools were needed. There are many things I love about having an EV like our Ioniq 5 — the smooth drive, the instant torque, the quiet cabin — but storage design is definitely not on that list of strengths. From the center console to the cup holders and especially the trunk, it feels like the designers gave almost no thought to how real people actually use their cars. That’s exactly why the Nilight Trunk Cargo Cover has become one of my absolute favorite upgrades we’ve added to our EV so far.The Ioniq 5’s trunk hatch opens wide, and on our sloped driveway, anything left loose in the trunk has a tendency to roll right out the moment the hatch lifts. Grocery bags, sports gear, or even small storage totes all seemed to have a mind of their own. With this retractable cargo cover, we finally put an end to that chaos. It fits perfectly, sliding right into the existing rail system designed for a trunk cover. Once installed, it’s rock solid — no rattling, no shifting. It opens and closes smoothly, using the car’s original guide rails, and feels as if it were designed by Hyundai themselves rather than a third-party accessory.Aside from keeping everything inside when I open the hatch, the biggest peace of mind comes from knowing our trunk contents are hidden from prying eyes. Living in Southern California, we’re always a little cautious about leaving anything visible that might tempt someone to break into the car. With this cover, we’ve cut that risk way down. Even when parked at trailheads or busy shopping centers, we feel much more secure knowing no one can peek inside.But my favorite feature hands-down is the cargo netting that comes with the set. We attached the bottom of the net to the existing trunk floor buckles using the included carabiners — a smart touch that made setup straightforward. For the upper loops, I used the adhesive knobs included in the kit and backed them with screws for extra security. I did have to go through the trim, but I placed the screws inside the trim where they’re virtually invisible. The result? A tight, reliable net that creates an incredibly handy “envelope” for grocery bags, pizza boxes, or a baseball mitt that would otherwise roll around and slam into the hatch door.What I love most is that this net not only prevents things from falling out when the hatch opens but also organizes everything in front of the opening. It makes every grocery run, team practice pickup, or quick pizza stop so much less stressful. I was so impressed that I realized this same setup would work beautifully in our old Prius too, and I’m already planning to order a second one.This product proved to me that there really are thoughtful storage solutions out there for EVs. If you’re frustrated by the Ioniq 5’s trunk chaos, this is hands down a must-have. Five stars without a doubt!

This retractable cargo cover is a great fit for the Honda Passport from 2019 to 2025. It installs easily and offers solid coverage to keep valuables out of sight. The added trunk storage net is a nice bonus for organizing smaller items. Durable, well-designed, and blends seamlessly with the interior—an excellent accessory for boosting privacy and storage efficiency.
