How to Install KZI AFM Disabler?
1: PLUG-IN
Take out the AFM disabler out of the box and find the diagnostic port and plug the deive in it.
2: Check the blue light
After plugging the device in, the blue light turned on. It’s the indication of the device being connected. If you do not see the light at all, then check if the OBD-II fuse is okay or not.
3: Start the engine
When the vehicle started, the instrument panel will show V8. Enjoy the running and unplug the device if you will not drive the vehicle for a few days.
The device is currently NOT compatible with 2019+ Silverado and Sierra models equipped with 5.3L / 6.2L motors and 10-speed transmissions.

Installed this on my 2019 Silverado LD Old Body Style. It’s really a 2018 badged as a 2019. First thing I noticed is instant throttle response. Got it on the highway for my morning commute and it had noticeably less vibration. As expected it never went into V4 mode. I was getting ready to trade it in on a 2500 because of all the vibration and hesitation, not any more. I also had the torque converter replaced a few weeks before I got this. The dealer recommended one of these to help smooth things out. Like other have said it’s not a cure all for the faulty lifter issues on these trucks.It was easy to install. I followed the instructions and disconnected the battery, but I’m not sure you have to.Now fuel economy. I typically commute 30 miles into work one way, 90% highway. I keep my speed between 68 and 70 with the cruise control. I averaged 20.4 MPG today on my first drive with this installed. I’m hesitant to say it was better but I usually averaged between 19-20 mpg before it was installed. Keep in mind this was highway driving. I haven’t done any backroads driving yet. I would highly recommend this!!!!BIG UPDATE!!!!It was inspection sticker time for me. I failed because of 3 emission sensors that were not reporting their data.I drove the truck for about 150 miles with the unit removed and went back and passed. I would recommend removing this a week or so before getting an inspection sticker.

I consider myself fairly experienced with the awful AFM/dod systems on these vehicles as I’ve owned 2 suvs with them. First off this device does exactly what it supposed to do. Vehicle stays in v8 full time& for some, depending on your mileage/year/condition of vehicle/specific model, you may experience a smoother running car. I have a Yukon XL with about 125000 miles I felt it made takeoff smoother, I put it to the mpg test and noticed definitely worsening gas mileage on back roads, but no difference on Highway. This is definitely worth the cost but like the other reviews say it’s not a cure all to the issues these vehicles have a tendency to develop.

For the first little bit the unit seemed to work well but after driving with it in I noticed my truck was shifting hard on low end as well as running rich it was very noticeable at idle, ended up taking it out after a week and found that my truck runs way smoother without it, recommend buying a better unit than this or even a tuner

My 2019 Corvette Grand Sport (20,000 miles) has developed a fast rattle at 1,500rpm when under load. It only happens when AFM shuts it down to a V4. If I keep it in manual mode, it stays in V8 and I never hear the rattle. Another company sells this same device for $300 (not on amazon).I found this version and for the price difference, had to try it. It works perfectly. The car stays in V8, no more rattle, no more constant paddle shifting. Happiness.If you get this, be sure to remove and drive at least 2 hours before going to a dealer. It will void your warranty.

Was skeptical because of other reviews claiming the battery might drain. Since I don’t drive the truck everyday I was worried I would have to remove the disabler all of the time. Well I can report in my case the battery never died and sometimes the truck would sit for a couple weeks. I am not sure if its necessary to disconnect the battery to install the DOD disabler but I did install it that way to prevent any issues. Would recommend especially for the price.

The fuel saver, 4 cylinder mode it went into used to make the ride very jumpy and not smooth acceleration after braking. This device makes the truck drivable again. No jumping or lunching, all the power right there at the pedal the way a chevy should be

MY GMC was using an abnormally high amount of engine oil and since 75000kms I have been getting misfires due to bad spark plugs . I suspected it was a result of the cylinder deactivation system.After I installed the KZI AFM Disabler my oil consumption is very much improved and the performance and fuel milage is at least the same if not much better.

It disabled the 4cyl mode. The instructions stated to disconnect the battery……well I didn’t. Plugged it in and off I went.Have had it for a handful on months now and no issues out of it.
