It takes it a while to heat, don’t plan on this to give your engine a quick heat in the morning before work. plug it in the night before, and don’t forget to unplug it! You probably should remove the heater from the oilpan as well before driving the vehicle.. While the magnet is quite strong, I would not trust it to stay on the pan while driving. It would be fine if you were using it on a stationary generator. I also checked that it would shut off at 135 as it says the thermostat says. It went up 170! not a big problem, but still hotter then I would want to keep the oil for an extended period. I will check further and see if it exceeds that level. If that is as high as it gets, I will leave the rating at 5 stars.Overall I like this heater, it should help on a very cold morning to get heat quicker, and make life easier on the cold engine! I do recomend it, but it does seem a bit expensive for what it is.

Decent block heater. A lot of plastic on it but overall and so far has held up well to the heat and use on a skidsteer. Have been using it daily on an outdoor skidsteer with no issues so far. heats up quick and holds the temp till temp shutoff. Overall I would but again unless I run into issue with the plastic

I purchased 2 of these for my Bobcat Skid Steers. They work great for those cold morning starts when you have to get out and move snow. I used a temperature gun to verify the performance. After being on a couple hours, the oil temperature went from 23 degrees to 76 degrees. Nice to start a warm engine and avoid the extra wear that comes with cold starts.

It works best if you do not have a skin plate covering your oil pen.

It did a good job in the extreme cold and if I need a second one I would purchase another one. I do recommend this product.
