A handy way of controlling any electrical device up to 15 amps. The attached device can turn ON or OFF when power is applied to the relay (your choice). For example, you could roll your projector screen down when your stereo is powered up. Or turn your furnace on when the the lights go out. The output terminals are “dry contacts”, which means they wire up just like an ordinary switch. The product contains a high power relay, circuit breaker, and safety circuit that are triggered by external AC power.

Maybe I’m just dumb and couldn’t find it, but a wireing diagram would have been nice. The product worked great, but I had to do some trail and error to get the wiring right. Granted I’m not an electrician. It would have been nice to find some instruction on their web page. I did get I nice email from the company prior to delevary with some phone numbers to call for help. I would have went that route, but it received my package after their normal hours. I used it to wire my gas fireplace up and it worked great!

I use this relay in my gas powered fireplace to enable Alexa to turn it on and off. Since the gas fireplace is turned on by opening a circuit of a thermopile, you can’t simply connect a smart switch in the place of the dumb switch that starts the fireplace as there is no 120V power supply available at the switch.Instead, I installed a smart switch for the fireplace blower. That blower switch operates an outlet located in the panel below the fireplace. I plugged this relay into the outlet, and now when the power to the outlet is enabled, the relay closes the circuit thermopile circuit.In this manner, I have preserved the ability to turn on the fireplace manually with the dumb switch in the event of power loss, or if Alexa devices are up and running then I can say, “Alexa, turn on the fireplace.”

If this switch lasts, it will be a great deal. Really difficult to find something like this for anywhere near the price. Used this to turn off the low voltage cable on my indirect water heater at vacation home. I plugged it into a GE Zwave outlet that is controlled by Veralite. Its wired it in reverse of what might seem logical – “On is Off”. If the switch fails or the internet is down, all anyone has to do to make the water heater function normally is pull the plug out of the outlet. Only other thing to do is add skills to Alexia for voice control On/Off. One note that wasn’t clear to me… the “RESET” button only works if you have it wired to the “on when its on” mode – works like a typical switch. Necessary to unplug/turn off electric to make it “closed when switch not powered” as I used it to make it fail to closed.

Works as it should. Used it to plug a smart outlet into my gas on/off fireplace and can now turn it on or off with wifi. Simple and easy to use. Doesn’t come with any instructions and shipping was a couple days later than most things I buy on Amazon.

I’ve been searching for some time for a device that would allow me to run two sump pumps off the same backup power source, but limiting only one to operate at a time. The backup power source can’t handle the surge current of both at the same time. And I needed a way to inhibit one while the other was operating. This relay fit the bill perfectly! The float closing on one pump (starting that pump) drives the trigger side without any additional circuitry. And all I had to add was a piggy back trigger line (the exact same used for a float), but attached to the normally closed terminal switch on the relay that feeds the other pump. The other pump still retains its own float trigger. When the first pump switches on, the NC goes open disconnecting the second pump from power. When the first pump switches off, the open goes back to closed, allowing the second pump to operate.

I had built a couple of light boxes(contain 12v batteries connected to lights) for when the power goes down. I thought to myself ‘what would I need to do in order to have this thing turn the lights on automatically when the power goes out?’….Add a relay that is normally closed that I can plug into an outlet! So, I started down the path of looking up 120v relays. I spent a lot of time looking at building my own relay for the project and eventually stumbled across this item. Once I found it and saw the price, I purchased it immediately. Having everything already nicely packaged in such a compact form was exactly what I wanted and saved me the trouble and headache of doing it on my own. I added a port to my light boxes that I could disconnect if I wanted to move it around and wired it up to the normally closed side of this unit. Without fail whenever the power has gone out, it closes the loop and I have light that very instant.

I combined this with a Gosund KS-602S to automate my built in gas fireplace and blower. The Gosund switch connected to the blower with no issues. However, the switch alone will not fully automate a gas fireplace; you need to have a relay that activates when power is supplied to the blower. On my fireplace, the relay needed to be one that was isolated from the trigger voltage. My blower box has a 2 outlet power box within the firebox. The Gosund switch controls both outlets; 1 is used for the blower and this Digital Loggers AC Power Control Relay is plugged into the other outlet. When power is applied, the relay is triggered which opens up the gas feed to the fireplace.Installation for this purpose is very easy. I have other Digital Logger products and have never had issues with them.

Looks like good build quality. Spliced into my fireplace thermostat wires, (can be splice in anywhere between fireplace and existing switch/thermostat). Plugged into a smart plug and now I can say “Alexa, turn on fire” and voila! Fire! Works great and is half the cost and a fraction of the size of units with wifi built-in. Would recommend if you want to voice activate a dumb fireplace.

These things are handy.My latest use – bought a $3 battery alarm clock, cut one of the battery wires and wired it through the normally open side of the relay. It stays plugged in beside my bed with the alarm set from 1 to 4 hours (depending).Why?We have a lot of power outages where I am, so when the power goes out, the clock starts. I now know exactly how long the power was out (so I know when it is time to get out the generator and plug the refrigerator into it), and the alarm will wake me up if it happens in the middle of the night. In the summer, the fridge comes up to 40 degrees fast, so I set the alarm to 2 hours, which is my cue to get power to it before I have any problems.

I used this to disconnect the sub speaker from its amp to prevent a pop noise when the amp loses power. The receiver has a switched AC outlet on it (yes, it’s old…) that I used as the trigger source for this relay. Works perfectly… No more pop noise from the speaker.
