This type of lock is poorly designed and breaks easily at the flex point. This item is a direct replacement from the OEM and does not reflect on the vendor. I received the lock quickly and the installation was fast. There are 2 screws on the faceplate under the clear cover and 2 screws on the lock itself. It only took 5-10 minutes to replace it. Just remove faceplate screws, lift faceplate away from fridge and let it hang down while you remove and replace the screws and lock. There is no need to open the door or shut off the fridge.

Easy install, fit nicely. Very secure. I did have to file down the wedge this latch hooks onto, to make it possible to open the door.You’d think Dometic could come up with a more durable, simpler design for a refrigerator door latch.

We replaced a previous latch that came broken on a new to us camper. This is simple plastic, no spring, no real latch. In general the Dometic latch design and tiny little ledge that holds it shut just isn’t robust enough to handle RV travel. The latch easily opens and your food will go flying with any sharp turns or bumpy highways and roads. Taping the door shut works better. 🤷🏻♀️

My old latch broke after several years. This is a very good and easy to replace door latch for my. RV. You don’t need to take the door off or even open the door to do the replacement.
