The 5” torq22d backing plate works with any 5.5” buffing and polishing pads and scrubbing brushes for Unlimited detailing applications. The torque RANDOM orbital polisher is the First large throw detailing machine that balances power, wide buffing pattern, and ergonomic feel in a package designed around the user. The 22D makes short work of polishing paint, metal, optical plastic, and glass, but it can also scrub carpets, upholstery, and even restore headlights. Polishing large, flat panels like roofs, hoods, and doors is made easy with the included 6” torq22d backing plate, but smaller and more contoured spots are easier to Polish with the 5” torq backing plate. The 5” torq22d backing plate uses rugged synthetic materials for superior heat resistance and durability over extended polishing jobs. Bi-directional Cooling channels funnel fresh air in to cool the buffing pad, backing plate, and machine polisher with every spin around the torque machine. Dispersing heat from polishing extends the lifespan of buffing pads, backing plates, and the machine polisher itself. The low-profile plate features a beveled edge to help fit the buffing pad into tight areas around brush guards, roof racks, door mirrors, bumpers, door jambs, and more. The custom-fitted interface bracket that attaches the backing plate to the torque is secured with durable metal fittings for a solid bond. Choose the torque 5” backing plate for polishing smaller areas, contoured panels, or scrubbing seats, carpets, and upholstery.

This backing plate also perfectly fits the Bauer1918E-B 6 in. 7.5 Amp Dual Action Random Orbit Polisher from HF. Now I can use 5″ pads and it even seemed to improve the balance.

Nice quality seems to be good.. Only have used once have had no issues!! Purchased as a replacement for my 6 inch backing plate do now I need to purchase 5 inch pads now to fit better !!

This backing plate seems like great quality. I can confirm it fits the Bauer 6 In. 7.5 Amp Dual Action Random Orbit Polisher (model #56367) from Harbor Freight with no problems and no modifications required to fit. I’ve buffed out a few panels and so far it is working great. I’m using it with Meguiars microfiber pads and my abused black paint is looking better than ever. I can’t compare this to the stock 6” backing plate on the polisher, I haven’t tried it as I have no 6” pads other than the single one that was supplied along with it. It seems to run just fine with the 5” backing plate and pads though.

Used it on a Shurhold 3500 and and a Bauer and it was a perfect fit and replacement from 6″ backing plate, So far it’s been durable. Has seen a good 30 hours hours of use and a couple of cars worth of pad exchanges with little wear. Pads fit perfect come on and get off easy but not too easy. Did not need washer mod for either polisher.

Originally I gave this 1 star for apparently not fitting my CG Torq 10FX. Well, that’s because its not meant for it. CG does make one, the DA R5. My mistake. I ordered the correct one and it’s on its way, should fit with no issue, as I already have the 5″ version.Some complained about this not coming with a necessary bolt. I suspect the version of the CG polisher that this was meant for already has that screw. Either way, that wasn’t the main issue. The main issue if you try to fit this with a different brand or the incorrect DA, is that the recessed area on the mounting surface can result in a mangled washer, which will lead to nasty imbalances at high speed and a loss of polishing power.Get the R5 Dual Action version with the flat back…

All pads seem to fit my Chicago Electric 6″ dual action polisher I bought at Harbor Freight and work as described. They seem to hold up a little bit better than the pads I purchased at Harbor Freight which are less expensive.
