I recently purchased a Ford Maverick. I got the XL version, that has the fewest options. I appreciated this bed cargo storage bin. It effectively utilizes one of the nooks and crannies in the vehicle. This unit has a removable shelf you could use to hide stuff in or remove the shelf in it to store larger items. It has a little combination lock that I was not too thrilled about. I am going to leave it set to 000 because my bed is enclosed under a cover anyway and the lock is a bit wonky to work with. I’d rather have a simple twist latch without lock. The unit is made of sold plastic. It was simple to install. Be aware you will have to remove or loosen the little cleat next to the opening for this thing to make it fit. That requires Torx bits and you might as well get a breaker bar because those things are tight sometimes (I already have one). Remove the 4 bolts from the cover with a ratchet, move the cleat out of the way and the storage bin slides right in place. It fit great into my truck and you can’t even notice it. This is a pretty cool thing and will come in handy in the course of my work and life. It is very well made and works great.

This unit doesn’t stay closed. I wanted to store a few ratchet straps in this, but when I do they jostle the door open. The plastic is too soft an the door too loose.

So I had too many tools for just one, apparently, and this second one has turned out to be exactly what I needed for keeping small tools, straps, and odds and ends tidy and secure. The bin is designed for the Maverick XL, and it fits neatly on either side of the bed once you remove the factory cover plate. No issues with it working on my 23023 Hybrid. Perfect fit.The three digit code lock gives real peace of mind. I can stash things in there without worrying they’ll walk off. Admittedly, the whole thing is made of plastic, so if anyone wants to get in, they will, but it’s a deterrence more than anything. The adjustable dividers let me split up the interior for different gear, like straps in one section, emergency supplies in another, so everything has a nice place for it to belong.It’s made from ABS, feels solid against rain, heat, and dust, which is important for stuff that lives out back in the bed. Replacement of the original cover plate takes just a few minutes, using the existing bolt. No drilling, no adding weird brackets. or any need for any strange tools. Just a ratchet set. Don’t expect it to hold large tools or bulky items. It’s great for small parts, cords, gloves, but not a replacement for full sized toolboxes, obviously.This storage bin is a smart, secure way to add usable compartment space to the Maverick XL bed. It helps reduce clutter, keeps things locked up, and uses existing hardware, which makes it a satisfying upgrade. Great value for what you’re getting.

While this bed cargo storage bin from Piiterpart is intended for the Ford Maverick XL (I didn’t note that when I ordered), it can also be ordered as a replacement to the OEM version that came with my 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat. This storage bin does function and fits into the bed similar to the OEM version. Build quality in my opinion is equal or better than the OEM version that came with my truck. For example the Piiterpart storage bin comes not only with a combination lock but also a locking mechanism made of metal instead of the all-plastic mechanism in the OEM version.A couple things to note:- The ease of installation will depend on your access to the four (or six) screws used to mount the storage bin. Unfortunately for me, my drop-in bed liner blocked these screws which added an installation issue I hadn’t expected. For those of you that have the factory installed spray-on-liner, you likely won’t have this issue.- This product’s door is missing a better seal that is there with the OEM version. I suggest you might want to add your own rubber-like type of seal if you wish to better waterproof the compartment better when the door is closed.- The Piiterpart door to this storage bin fits perfectly fine with the OEM storage bin. In other words , if you’re just needing a new door as a replacement to the OEM version or a door with a code lock, you can just swap doors instead of swapping out the storage bins themselves. I realize it is sort of expensive to buy this just for a door replacment, but I’m unaware of anyone just selling a door for these OEM and third-party compartment bins.Overall, I really like this product. At the time of order this storage bin was being offered near the same price as the OEM version. Both competing products are almost equal in value for the money. Personally, I like this version from Piiterpart better than the OEM version.

Good for added storage compartments in your ford maverick truck bed. Fits in perfectly. Easy installation, though you may need to unscrew the tie down near the cubby hole. The plastic seems to be around the same used for the ODM Maverick cubby, but maybe a tad thinner. Price is good for what you are getting. A cubby and the locking mechanism.Some downfalls: The plastic front plate feels thinner than it should be. It would be easy to pry this open, locked or not.When locked, the door jingles near the top, making it feel like it could open on its own any moment. It has not so far, but I have to keep my eye on it. The “jingle” could be due to a bend in the front plate I had done when testing out the plastic quality. I guess be mindful of that.I posted a picture after the instal. Keep in mind the outlet does not come with the cubby. I had added that in on my own.
