My 2007 Expedition EL has the dreaded paint loss on the edge of the hood and the rear gate. This bolt-on hoodflector covers all that lost paint on the hood. If this would have been on there earlier in the truck’s life, maybe the paint would have stayed? Anyways, it comes with 4 plastic fasteners that you push in and then thread in with a screwdriver. I questioned how well they would work when I pulled it out of the box, but they hold it on there very well. It doesn’t budge at all. I like how it fastens on, but is removable if you need it to be. The other model adheres directly to the hood, which seems permanent to me. It has 4 rubber bumpers that you stick to the hood to protect from too much deflection. It makes my hood look 100% better. My truck is a dark grey, so the smoked acrylic accents the vehicle very nicely.

Great product. Easy to install.

This is a perfect & profiled fit for a 2014 Ford Expedition. I have been using Auto Ventshade deflectors for almost 20 years on all our various family trucks / SUVs and never had an issue with their products. Their deflectors always lasted the life of the vehicles, even in our unforgiving cold winters (some trucks were kept 10-15 years).Note that the newer Expeditions have an issue with the paint chipping very easily off the front edge of their aluminum hoods, therefore a deflector such as this one is a great upgrade to protect the paint… and looks great too!

Looks great.Have to see how it works for rocks and bugs.
Customer since 2004 –
While it fit like a glove, wasn’t at all impressed with the quality of the holes which had twirls of plastic still hanging from them like QC was non-existent. Left me uneasy installing this deflector. However it did install okay, especially after I deburred the holes. Looks okay, mainly purchased to protect my hood leading edge.

Every vehicle I’ve owned has had these installed on them. Completes the great look with the AVS vent visors also. Perfect fit and easy to install on my 2012 Ford Expedition Limited. The plastic screws installed perfectly in holes under the lip of my hood. Also, the predrilled holes in the deflector lined up perfectly. It does come with rubber stops that the instructions say to install on the hood but you can stick them to the back of the bug deflector if you don’t want to stick them on your paint and it works the same. These help protect your paint from getting rubbed from the downforce of wind put on the bug deflector as you drive as it will flex. My suggestion is, feel where it flexes the most and place the rubber stops there not necessarily where the picture shows to place them. Just remember to close your hood securely after install. I’ve had them interfere with how hard to close a hood to get them to latch properly, but this one does NOT affect the hood closing at all. And it looks awesome!

Fit very good

Great purchase and I would purchase again if needed
Chris –
The only “bad” thing is that the hardware that comes with it is lacking. Plastic screws dont work very well.
Eric D –
It’s a good product that stands up to the car wash. Looks good on a black expedition helped out with bugs on the windshield.
Mickey –
Works so well for keeping bugs off of front of car… but windshield still gets bombarded… lol
Customer –
I bought this for a 2011 expedition, the box lists that vehicle. There were no instructions at all in the box, just screws and 2 strange clips that I have no idea what they’re for. The holes On the bug shield do not line up With the holes on the hood . They are at least a half inch off, I don’t see how this can be installed without drilling, don’t waste your money!

Just what I needed and came in good condition and time and good quality, works well
