I don’t live in an especially buggy area, but I wanted something that would repel small pebbles from dinging or cracking the windshield on my Astrovan. So far this device has done the job. I’ve had it installed for almost 2 years and so far my glass is ding-free. Although made of plastic, it is flexible and resiliant and still looks good after 2 summers in the hot sun. It installed easily with a couple of screws, although I did have to drill small starter holes but it was no big deal. I did notice that during the rainy season, my wipers had a bit more difficulty keeping the windshield clear because of the different airflow. A change to premium wiper blades seemed to help. If you have a vehicle where windshield damage from road debris is a problem, this may be the answer. Overall made well and the fit is perfect, just be sure you specify the correct vehicle and model. I had to send two back because I ordered incorrectly!

Easy to install … easier with two people. You are going to need a drill gun and small high speed metal drill bitto pre-drill for the screws.

Auto Ventshade products are every bit as good as Weather Tech products but for a fraction of the price. The bug/stone repelling front hood guard was installed within 30 minutes by myself on my 2003 Chevrolet Astro van conversion. It could have been installed much quicker however I am a perfectionist and between centering it on the hood alone without any assistance along with breaking 3 drill bits while mounting it both hindered my progress. Alas the guard was installed and looks terrific as well as serves a very important function. Protection from stones that cause cracked windshields and bug splatter nuisance. My dark tinted smoke colored guard is made of high quality plastics materials that will stand up to time and give you piece of mind and safety. Just read through the installation instructions carefully before setting out to install it. I learned that it is recommended NOT to go through car washes with brushes which I always do anyway once the guard is installed. So wrapping up the Auto Ventshade is 1) easy to install 2) inexpensive 3) made of quality materials 4) great looking and provides safety and protection. I highly recommend this product. Mine also arrived extremely fast.
