Product as described other than its does nothing for the vehicle.

I wasn’t aware how much the cylinder deactivate feature affected how the truck runs. Simple installation and it now runs much smoother and shifts better. Almost like brand new.

2007 Suburban 1500 5.3l with Afm cylinder activation “feature”. A few months ago the engine started running rough, it had no power, had a misfire on cylinder four, the traction control and check engine lights came on. It also shifted really hard. Didn’t know what the problem was, checked fuel pressure, spark plugs, swapped coils, still had problem. Learned about Afm on the engine. Pulled intake plastic cover, VLOM plate, saw cylinder 4 full of gas. Learned about stuck lifters. Sharpened one side of the end of a long skinny bolt to a taper, stuck it down the oil hole under the VLOM plate for cylinder 4, tapped it with a hammer until the lifter popped opened and I heard a big whack when it released and the rod shot up. Followed YouTube video and cut the oil passage gaskets on the VLOM plate so it could no longer feed oil into the lifters to deactivate them, or allow pressure to build up which could also for the lifter to re-collapse. Found that after cutting the bottom half off a small socket, it fit perfectly under the pressure sensor to block the oil from feeding into the VLOM plate passages. Reinstalled everything. Engine ran great as it’s always in v8, but it would still try to deactivate and the rpm’s would drop which was annoying when driving on the highway. I’m not sure what happens in that case? Does it still fire the spark plugs on the deactivated cylinders, does it still inject fuel into those cylinders?? I bought and plugged in this deactivation device and it has been working perfectly for over 4000km so far. Engine no longer tries to go into 4 cylinder mode. Super happy with it, leave it plugged in all the time and hasn’t drained the battery, thank you!!

Why pay hundreds for a Range? This helped my shifting be smoother, power always equal and it probably will save my engine in long run also. I have 2021 Silverado with 5.3l AFM , didn’t think it was going to make much difference but it really did help especially while in 6th gear.

Does exactly what is supposed to do.Easy to install and it’s nice that the lights on the unit are not to bright.

I bought this specific AFM disabler device because it advertised a ‘sleep mode’. So far, so good. It is working as advertised as it is awesome!Probably saving me thousands in repairs!
