These do not fit the Engel or ARB plugs or sockets properly. They are just so tight it feels like something will break. I’m sticking with the ARB brand, better material and proper fit.I returned these for a refund.

I put this in my electrical box in the back of my truck. It runs my Dometic fridge with a nice secure connection.

Some of the negative reviews say it’s too tight to fit correctly. It is tight but this is not a manufacturing defect. As long as the the pins are lined up, a firm push will seat the two pins and allow the locking cap to completely thread on. Also the DIY plug that comes with this kit has thinner pins than my OEM Engel fridge plug and takes less effort to seat into the socket.

But is a true pain to plug in. And when unplugging it’s likely to disassemble the plug rather than unplug it. Great idea, poorly executed. Use it for something that rarely needs to be unplugged.

Picked up this BANDC 12V/24V DC Power Engel Fridge Socket to install in the back of the SUV to securely power our Dometic fridge on long trips. This kit came with both a socket and a plug. The socket accepts the Engel plug that came with our Dometic without any issues. It started out as a very tight fit, but has become easier to attach/detach with some use. It’s definitely secure.As for the included plug, I cut the bullet-shaped plug off a cheap 12V extension cable and attached Engel plug in its place. Now if I ever find myself needing a standard 12V outlet back there, I can just connect my little cable to Engel outlet and plug in whatever I like.
