The high current 5 pin relay and socket kit is designed for automotive applications where reliability in a high moisture location is critical. The OEM style relay is rated to 60 Amps in the normally closed position and 80 Amps in the normally open position, and features a negative spike suppression resistor and mounting tab. The socket assembly features a weather tight seal, 3 primary 16 gauge leads for the accessory being powered, and 2 18 gauge leads to switch the relay on and off. The relay and socket also include a locking feature to resist vibration and ensure the moisture stays out! Perfect relay combination for under the hood, and off road vehicles. Included in the kit is a wiring diagram.

I will say it is weatherproof, so far. It is mounted high up in the engine bay, by the firewall. So far, so good. I do not expect any future issues from it. The pigtails seem to be of good quality wire, and insulation. They bend, and route, easily. The insulation seems to stand up well to semi-indirect heat. I was heating some shrink wrap around the connections at the end of the wires with a small butane torch, and the insulation did not melt, or blister. I do not know if it will stand up to direct heat, though. The harness and relay click together with an oddly satisfying click. Not like some lesser quality ones that you fear the connection will come loose if you hit a pothole too hard. I certainly would not hesitate to buy more, if the need should arise.

I like quality products and don’t mind paying a little extra i used it on a dump trailer to disconnect charging circuit from trailer when raising or lowering the dump box

Using it as a back up relay for a bow fishing boat, hasn’t gave out and has been in use about 10 times while making an absolute mess of water around it! haha

For those that own a 07-10 Jeep Wrangler JK, THIS WILL WORK as a direct replacement for the High Speed Coolant Fan Relay, the one behind the driver’s headlight. Mopar P/N 56055667AA/AB 60/80Apm relay. The Mopar one is $40-$60, and not normally available. THIS WORKS AS A DIRECT REPLACEMENT!.

The wire sizes are too small to truly run 60 amp continuous and the trigger and ground wires were put in backwards. That being said it does its job just fine.
