MAX GRE A/B is a two-part epoxy-based resin system (Bis A & Bis F Epoxy Hybrid) formulated for gasoline resistance.
It is a premium-grade resin for the construction,repair and restoration of fuel tanks.
MAX GRE A/B demonstrates excellent adhesion to metal and aluminum.
It is highly resistant to swelling, softening, and loss of adhesion from direct contact with modern gasoline and diesel fuels.
Cured coatings exhibit anti-corrosion and oxidation shielding properties
MAX GRE A/B forms a barrier coating that provides a high degree of chemical resistance against petroleum-based gasoline, diesel, and ethanol fuel blends (E85).
MAX GRE A/B works well as an impregnating resin for fiberglass, carbon fiber fabrics for patching, reinforcing fuel tanks. It can be used as an adhesive for bonding metals and composites that may come in contact with gasoline and petroleum fuels.
The substrate must be cleaned to remove oily residue by degreasing.
Remove loose or flaking rust, and for the best adhesion performance, abrade or sandblast the surface to bare metal so the MAX GRE A/B coating is in direct contact with the metal substrate.
MAX GRE A/B is mixed 2:1 and offers a 35 to 45 minute working time. The mixed consistency is similar to cooking oil and applied by brush or flow coating application. MAX GRE is self-leveling and will continue to flow until it cures to a solid polymer The cured coating thickness to create an effective barrier is 0.015 inch/or 0.381mm.; Allow the coating to cure for 2 to 4 days before use.

Quick delivery and product as described by seller.I have not had time to fill the tank with gasoline to see how it holds up over time but will assume the product claims are correct.I have worked extensively with composite structures utilizing primarily a product called Aeropoxy with both carbon and fiber glass in construction of an aircraft.With that as my reference point, understanding the Aeropoxy was not resistant to ethanol containing gasoline and that was why I used MAX GRE, I’d make the following comments.This product has a fairly short working time so large layups are problematic. The instructions are accurate in this regard, so you have been warned.Compared to other resins I have used for layups, this resin wets out cloth a little slower as it is fairly viscous. Due to the viscosity air incorporation while mixing is hard to avoid.Small batches are a must ,as with many resins, as it will exotherm quickly.It took a couple of request to get the SDS and Tech Data from the seller.This is a much needed product, if it works as described ,as ethanol in gasoline is hard to avoid today.

I had a fuel tank on a Ford backhoe that had 29 pin holes in the bottom of it. It is a metal tank and full of rust. I cleaned it thoroughly and followed the directions. I was worried about it not bonding, it is yet to leak and is doing great.

Worked as described. Used it on the inside and outside of a rusty Ducati fuel tank and had enough left over to do it again.
