I love hammerlocks because they carry the highest weight capacity and they are flexible. This pair of black hammerlocks are easy to assemble and the finish is bright and high gloss to stand up to the elements.

I had to put a longer set of safety chains on the front of my carry-on trailer because of a hitch extension. These connectors were a stronger and more permanent option than the threaded link with a spinning nut that I have used before. These are over 4 times stronger and have and incredible breaking strength. Once you get the length of chain you want, you hammer the pin through the expansion sleeve to lock it in place. It takes a good bit of force to install so there’s no chance of it falling out. It also makes it much harder for would be thieves to remove the chains, and yes that has happened to me in the past. The links came with two rubber cushions that fit inside the link that fit on the bearing surfaces. I installed them but don’t really think they are needed for my application and will be interested to see how long they will last. The links have a black enamel coating that should protect them from the elements for quite a while. I am very happy with them so far.
