I own a 1995 Toyota Camry that I recently got from a family member. The car is very well maintained on the inside, but not so much on the outside. The rims are particularly nasty and the last time I cleaned them, I did it with pure car soap, a toothbrush, and elbow grease (you can guess how long that took). Even then, the rims were still not that clean.I’ve been a longtime user of Griot’s products. They are always pumping out the latest and greatest of products to keep cars showroom clean with the least amount of effect. The heavy duty wheel cleaner does not dissapoint. After the first spray on my rims, the cleaner turned blood red and I could see the dust breaking apart. After that, it was just some simple scrubbing and then rinsing. True, it did not get all of the dust on first application, but it got a huge amount off.This product is definitely the one for you if you enjoy having a clean car. It’s easy to use, effective, and not that expensive. As stated before, stubborn brake dust may require some aggitation still, but the product is good as far as getting off every day grime. If I could have any complaint, it would be that it smells a bit funny, but you get used to it after a while and it really is not that bad.All in all, another great product from Griot’s! I’ve tried many wheel cleaners over the years. The nice thing about Griot’s products is I never worry about them harming finishes. The instructions say to wet the wheels, spray the product, wait a few minutes, and then wash with a soft cloth/sponge.We had a warm February weekend in TN, so I used this on 2 vehicles I hadn’t washed since early December. One car has aluminum wheels, the other steel wheels with fiberglass covers. The wheels/covers had a lot of brake dust/road film on them, and this cleaner got off all but a few spots with minimal effort. For a few spots, it did take some gentle pressure, but not bad for the buildup that was on the wheels.This cleaner has a strong, sweet fragrance. I’m not really sure if I like the smell, but I’ll put up with it for the job it does. The smell was still there a few days later when I checked the air in the tires. Next time I’ll order the gallon size and refill the 35 oz bottle.I’ve also used the “regular” Griot’s wheel cleaner. If you wash your car regularly, it works fine. If, like me, you wash every month or so (or longer), then this might be your ticket.

Product worked pretty good. Comes out thick, stays on, required minimum agitation in order to take off all the brake dust on my 09 BMW 335. I sprayed, let soak, sprayed with water. Resprayed with Groits, used a foam wheel brush, sprayed again and was 95% cleaned up. The rest wiped off with a micofiber (the entire rim…not just the exterior). Now, the actual spray bottle broke on the fourth pull and I had to put into something else. Amazon sent me a replacement, which arrived the next day (leaking inside the bag) but nevertheless the product is solid. Not sure its worth $18 but the best I’ve used to date, and I buy A LOT of car products.

I’m not a car detail guy or anything like that, I mean I like cars, I like washing my cars and I love clean wheels. This stuff works, cleans break dust well but it leaves a white-ish film behind, maybe it’s just white in black wheels. Em what ever the case, after washing, rinsing and drying you’ll have to go back and wipe the film away. It’s somewhat annoying, but the wheels look really good after.The film is like a wax, wax in wax off. Yeah I don’t know

This has been my wheel cleaner for 20+ years now. Performs exceptionally well without being harsh to clear coated wheels yet breaks down reasonable levels of brake dust, etc. Doesn’t require excessive amounts of product so a gallon lasts a good while without exceeding shelf life. If you care about your rides and want a very capable wheel cleaner, this is it. They also have a chrome wheel specific cleaner if desired and a heavy duty wheel cleaner if you often let the wheels get away from you, or have high performance brake pads that shed excessively and they’re covered in brake dust and road grime.

Not sure if this is better than regular car wash soap. Thought I would try it, but it’s not as good as competing products. Very expensive for what it is.

This wheel cleaner is pH neutral and can be used on all types of wheels without risking damaging the finish. It will struggle removing baked on brake dust or heavily soiled wheels. Great for maintaining wheels that don’t get too dirty, but most important is its safety.

Big jug to put in a nice spray pump. Should work well and last a long time. Griots makes some of the best products out there!

I use this product to clean wheels as the name suggests. It would be great if I could spray it on, rinse it off and be done, but no such luck. I use a sponge to wipe the wheels and the grime comes right off then. I feel this works better than some other cleaners because the sponge always rinses out completely. I have used other brands where the sponge was left with some black in it, but with the Griot’s product the sponge rinses right out, even when it was previously dirty from another brand.
