I decided to not give a one because I can see a few positives with it for others. If your vehicle takes very little oil meaning less than 5 quarts, then you might be alright, but if you are like me with trucks and large suvs, then this will be either really slow, and slightly messy, or fast and super messy. I tried both ways and they both ended with a mess, so dont do oil changes over a surface you care about. This would work for someone who has hours available to do an oil change on a weekend, but for someone who likes to just knock it out nice and quick, this won’t be the product for you. Just be wary and maybe just deal with the mess that happens normally, because this won’t make it better.

I really wanted to like this item. I have used this twice now. The first time oil ran out of the top. The second time I left off the plug out of the bottom, expecting that I had over-filled the Udder the first time. That didn’t work either. The oil is trapped around the outside of the filter, and does not go into the lower area of the Udder. The stand-off ribs don’t do the job of having a space for the oil to go between the filter and the Udder. It is neither spill free or mess free. :-(This is the small Udder, I haven’t used the big one yet. But I don’t expect it to be any different.

Did my first oil change with these Oil Udder’s and just about everything went well. The only place I couldn’t get either one of them to work was catching the oil that drained when I removed my oil filter but that was partly due to the location of the oil filter. They clean up easily enough and store nicely with the magnetic cap hangers.
