My driver’s side vent temperature on my 99 Park Ave was stuck on full hot since January, spring has rolled around and finally had to do something about it. I replaced the temp door actuator and… still stuck on hot… bummed me out but I did some more research which lead me to to do the following. With the ignition key off I unplugged the AC/Heater programmer module (its located behind the glove box with a couple of big wire harness connectors plugged into it, access it by lowering the black panel underneath the glove box) and let it power down for a couple of minutes. With the key still off I reconnected both connectors, then turned the key to on for 3 minutes, without starting the engine. This process clears any codes that were stored in the module and forces it to go through a door position “learn” test, which properly activated the actuator and now my dual zone climate controls are functioning normally once again! Wish I’d known about the relearn procedure before I started, might have saved me the cost of an actuator… but it did quit working properly for some reason, and it may have only delayed my purchase a few days before it failed again. I am very pleased with how my system is functioning now!!

I don’t know how I could give less than 5 stars for this item. When I first looked at it it seemed lighter and had more plastic parts instead of metal like the original. However, that is looking at the outside of it. Anyway, it slipped on my 2001 Tahoe rear A/C just like a glove, and has functioned flawlessly since. In fact, it was so easy I wish I had determined the problem earlier. My poor kids…their rear A/C actuator was bad and would only blow heat. It is 100 degrees everyday here! Shipping was fast, and product worked. Another 5 star transaction.

Installed in a 2002 Suburban with automatic climate control. Issue was that the REAR A/C system would continuously cycle between hot and cold no matter what temperature setting was applied. Be sure the ignition is off and all the HVAC controls are set to OFF before installing. After installing, be sure to plug in the electrical feed BEFORE turning on the ignition. So after installation, including plugging in the electrical feed, and leaving all the HVAC switches in the OFF position, turn the ignition switch to ON and wait about 2 minutes without changing anything. If you watch the actuator during this time, you’ll see it go through a sort of calibration process which takes about 40 seconds. After waiting the 2 minutes, turn the ignition back to OFF. Then go ahead and start the vehicle and test the rear HVAC system by running it through various settings. Mine worked perfectly after this replacement.By far the hardest part of the repair is removing all the plastic trim panels around the right rear wheel well in order to expose the rear A/C unit. I had to go to a Chevy dealer and purchase 3 of the metal “V” shaped clips utilized on the trim panels. Two had broken on disassembly, and one I found to be very rusty. They are surprisingly expensive at approx. $3 each. It all goes back together pretty quickly. The Amazon price for the actuator was $60 less than my local AC Delco parts store.

These actuators, along with a control module, p/n 15-73506 fixed all the issues I was having with Rear Heat/AC on a 2004 Yukon XL. The control module is an updated part from the original that corrects issues outlined in- “GM Service Bulletin #06-01-39-015A: Unable to Control Rear HVAC Temperature or Modes, Intermittent Ticking Noise from Rear HVAC Actuators or Rear HVAC DTCs B0434 or B3764 (Replace Auxiliary HVAC Control Module) – (Jan 12, 2007)” I replaced the control module and the HOT/COLD Actuator but still had no Floor/Ceiling control so had to replace the other actuator. BOTH Hot/Cold and Floor Ceiling Actuators are the same part number 15-72972. Others here described pulling fuses to force a calibration. I ended up having to disconnect the battery for a few minutes then start the ignition for the calibration to happen. After that it works great. I replaced all (3) components for less than the GM Dealer wanted for a single actuator. I honestly can’t believe they still get away with charging what they do for parts. Anyway, thanks again Amazon. I always try to use AC Delco parts when possible. I can usually get AC Delco on Amazon for about 25-40% less than the auto parts store wants for aftermarket.

So far it works great after having it for a week. Very easy to install. The hardest part was removing the plastic panels from the rear HVAC unit. I also replaced the computer module on the rear HVAC (AC Deloc#15-73506) so I am not exactly sure if it was the actuator, the module, or both. The local chevy dealer ran the codes for me and said both were bad. I figured why not replace both while I was at it. The rear HVAC would only blow cold. After replacing the two units, its works great and will blow heat again. The local Chevrolet dealership wanted to charge me $271 for the same exact AC Delco part plus labor ($900 total)!

It’s broke,it’s an easy part to change in my truck couldn’t make work so i had to take to a shop thinking the it was something else wrong end up finding out that the part was broke I ended up paying more
