Campin’ Grandma –
New steps for our 5th wheel RV have been on our wish list for some time and we’re really pleased with the decision we made. The old steps had a 9.5″ rise and were more like climbing a steep, bouncy ladder than steps. We went with the 4-step International Torkline Glowstep Revolution…what an improvement! They’re stable, thanks to feet on the ground, and the 7.5″ rise is much easier on old hips and knees. An unexpected benefit is being able to reach the door handle from the first step and open it with clearance, rather than lean over the old steps and barely reach the handle. Instructions were helpful and our marriage survived the installation. The RV frame was 1.5″ wider than the step frame and so we purchased 2 packages of 4 Torkline spacers, using 6 of 8. It took a few tries to master the step opening and closing but with directions right on the frame, top & bottom steps, we figured it out. The locking pin is a plus…no more bungee cord around the steps. We do plan to buy a second pin for the other side as backup for travel on rough roads.
