Did not fit my Toyota Tacoma. It was 2 inches short. Looked like it was a good sturdy product, but doesn’t fit. Also, the releases for the straps were tight up against the cab so could not release them without moving the whole tonneau cover back away from the cab of the pickup by several inches. Just a poor design the way the strap release was placed.

Let me start off by listing the pros and cons of this tonneau cover.PROS- Literally the cheapest one available for a first gen Tacoma. Unless you can find a used one locally, this is the absolute cheapest one you can buy that works.- Really good instructions and all parts provided.CONS- Needs to be modified to shut properly! I read some reviews that it is difficult to close up. This is true. The side rails like to pivot downward when force is applied to the closing mechanism (bad design, they hang off the sides of the bed inward slightly.) The latches on either side are also placed quite low. In order to shut the tonneau, make sure your tailgate is down. There are foam inserts on the corners of the final inch of the tonneau cover where it meets the rails. Cut these off. Underneath is a plastic backing portion held on by a philips head screw. Take that off too. Now the tonneau cover latches have the clearance to go lower than necessary in order to compensate for the pivoting mount rails.- The mounting brackets bottom out before they can properly tighten on the rails. You can remedy this by placing some type of foam or cork onto the portion of bed that the brackets latch onto.- The cover appears wrinkly unless pulled very tight before locking.- That light they give you with the cover is trash, just toss it honestly.If I were the manufacturer, I would improve this product by providing more foam strips to place on the top sides of the bed to raise the mounting rails by 1/8th of an inch, this could remedy some of the cons I noticed. All in all I’m happy with the product, I paid around $168 for this shipped, which is significantly less than other roll up tonneau covers.

Ok I received product, installation was straight forward simple. Only problem was the as others have stated, the rail clamps have a lot of play side to side. However, while it clamps down enough to keep it secured when it’s all completed. If I wanted it tighter I would modify the clamps by drilling a hole and tapping a screw through the clamp to tighten against the frame of the truck itself. I like the the fact it’s taught once completely done. I’m keeping it. It looks awesome, and does what it’s intended. They need to work on the clamp design for a more secure fit.

This fits perfectly for a 1998 Tacoma extended SR5, 4 x 2 Truck. My son needed to fit his drum set in the back, out of the weather. This fits the bill perfectly and for a great price, easy to install. We had to drill a few holes to ensure the top did not come loose not a big deal though. Very happy with the purchase.

THE INSTRUCTIONS NEEDED TO BE A BIT MORE DETAILED..IM A VERY MECHANICAL PERSON OI I FIGURED IT OUT ..THE PICTURES COULD BE A LITTLE MORE DETAILED FOR THE AVERAGE JOE..BUT THE QUALITY AND FITMET IS GREAT FOR THE PRICE..

This is such a dang good value. I had a bit of a custom bed topper project I wanted to do, but just the cost of materials were going to be well over $300. This kit includes everything and appears to be really thoughtfully constructed. I would absolutely buy it again. For reference this kit fit my 1986 Toyota pickup (regular bed) perfectly.

Easy install, measurements are close fit. Take time to line up cover on bed rails correctly. New clamp design holds cover on bed tighter than precious clamps. These covers might not be rain-water tight, possibly from improper installation. If bed has bedliner, it will have to be cut in 6 places: six 8′” X 8″ squares. These cuts are necessary so that the cover-retaining clamps can be installed. Covers reduce tail-gate drag & increase mileage, though no earth-shaking amount. Cover has no locking mechanism but out-of-sight/out-of-mind seems to work. Cover folds up so that tall item can be hauled in bed. I recommend this cover to anyone who is okay with its limitations.
